How it works

 
 

The Magic Wand Experience at the Wands & Wizard Exploratorium® is a BRAND NEW interactive retail experience unlike any other in existence. Step into the imagined worlds from your childhood and choose your own working, magic wand and bring it to life through the magic of science.

Select your medallion that will determine your wand’s magic: Which type of magic will your magic wand harness? Are you a Dark Magic mage, Light Magic wizard, or an Earth Magic sprite? You will make your initial selection when you check in at our ground floor ticketing desk.

Enter the Wandmaker’s Workshop: At the time of your booking you will be led up the many floors of our hundreds-year-old pink townhouse to the Wandmaker’s Workshop in the attic of the Wands & Wizard Exploratorium. Here your class will begin under the tutelage of our master Wandmaker. Learn about the history of our magical society before as you prepare to select your magic wand.

Choose your wand design: Your magic wand should be unique to you, and so you will select your wand style from the selection of wands. Which will you choose?

Once selected, the Wandmaker will guide you through using your wand through initial spell-casting in preparation for advanced magic!

Magic Wand Making Tickets include:

  1. 1 complete non-illuminated magic wand per ticket,

  2. the 20min interactive experience.

    Please note that a ticket holder may have an assistant of their choice accompany them during their wandmaking experience with no extra charge (so you only need to purchase one ticket at checkout!). The assistant will not receive their own magic wand to make or take home, but is there for moral support in this ever-important moment in a magician’s life.

  • Additional drinks can be purchased online before your visit for a discounted rate or while in the venue at full-price.

  • This experience takes place in an enclosed space with flashing and low lighting levels, wind, smoke, and (at times) loud sounds.

  • The Magic Wand Experience is led by a Wandmaker and each maker/assistant is located at their own standing desk.

  • Magic Wand Experience: Our signature Magic Wand Experience for all ages to make 1 magic wand. Admits 1 maker and 1 assistant.

    Please note that children under age 12 must be accompanied by an assistant over the age of 16.

    Workspace booking of approximately 20 min with the Wandmaker in a small-group, Covid-safe experience.

  • Magic Wand Experience: £44.99 per person, which includes the magic wand to take home

  • One ticket will allow one maker and one assistant. At least one of these people must be aged 12 or above. The assistant of the maker may not build a magic wand when accompanying the maker.Terms and Conditions apply

  • Alcohol may be purchased at an additional cost for any person of legal drinking age and above ONLY (18+) and may require valid photo ID.

    Both makers and assistants must be aged 8 or above as the Magic Wand Experience contains small parts that could pose a choking hazard to infants and toddlers

    Venue: The Wizard Exploratorium is a converted townhouse that is several hundred years old and unfortunately there is no disabled access. The Wizard Exploratorium does not have baby changing facilities. Pushchairs are not permitted in the experiences but can be left collapsed on the ground floor.

    Format: The Magic Wand Experience is led by a Wandmaker and each maker/assistant is located at their own standing desk.

    Payment: Payment will be in advance through our website or on-site. All prices, experiences, information and offerings are subject to restrictions, change or cancellation without notice. Please note that we do not take cash in the venue.

    Rescheduling: To reschedule your booking you must contact us no less than 48 hours in advance of your booking. Unfortunately we cannot reschedule bookings with fewer than 48 hours notice.     Ticket Refunds: Tickets are non-refundable but are transferrable to another person. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more details.

    Batteries: If you Magic Wand runs out of illumination, unscrew the handle and shaft, remove the “Magic of Things” sticker, and replace with 2 new AA batteries.

    Wand: The Wand in The Magic Wand Experience is not illuminated. The wands in the experience are not the same as the online wand builder.
